ID Finance ranked by FT 1000 as one of the fastest growing companies in Europe for 5th year in a row

ID Finance has made it once again! For fifth year in a row, it has be ranked by FT 1000 as one of the fastest companies in Europe. Among the Fintechs included ID Finance ranks 13^th and still is the only Spanish one included.

This ranking which has been elaborated together with Statista, lists those companies based in Europe with the highest CAGR between 2017 and 2020. In fact, for this year’s ranking, CAGR requirements were slightly increased from 35.5% to the current 36.5%. The companies that made it, as ID Finance did, showed resilience to the drop in demand due to the Covid pandemic.

From a sectorial perspective, FT explains that in a similar way to last year, a fifth were tech companies. The retail sector, quite affected by Covid, as shown in last year’s edition, increased the share of FT 1000 from under 6% to 8,6%.

From a geographical point of view, Italy is the country with most companies listed, with 235, followed by Germany with 194 and UK with 155. Regarding Spain, only 49 companies were included, and ID Finance is the only Fintech.

To be ranked companies have to follow a series of criteria, which FT describes as follows:

• Having a revenue of at least €100,000 generated in 2017
• Having generated a revenue of at least €1.5M in 2020
• Being an independent company
• Having registered primarily organic growth between 2017 and 2020
• If listed on a stock exchange, only company’s which share price has not fallen by 50% or more since 2019 are considered.
