ID Finance obtains carbon footprint compensation certification for the third consecutive year

05/03/2025

ID Finance has once again received the carbon footprint compensation certification awarded by the Spanish Office for Climate Change, part of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.

This recognition certifies that the company has calculated and offset its CO₂ emissions for 2023, thus reinforcing its responsibility for sustainability and reducing its environmental impact.

The Compenso Seal

The Compenso seal is an official certification that acknowledges organizations’ commitment to reducing their environmental impact. Obtaining it for the third consecutive year reinforces ID Finance’s dedication to a more sustainable business model aligned with the ecological transition.

To achieve this certification, ID Finance first conducted a detailed study of its carbon footprint in collaboration with the sustainability consultancy Ingertec, applying the ISO 14064 methodology for carbon footprint verification. This international standard enables organizations to assess and manage their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Reforestation Project in Huelva

After calculating and verifying the emissions generated in 2023, ID Finance participated for the second year in a reforestation project at the El Vinagre estate, located in the municipalities of Paterna del Campo and Berrocal, in Huelva province. This initiative aims to restore land affected by a wildfire in 2019, promoting ecosystem regeneration through the removal of burnt wood, reforestation with eucalyptus and native species, and the use of innovative technologies such as Waterboxx, which optimizes water efficiency for plant growth.

Carbon Neutral

ID Finance is one of the few fintech companies in Spain that are carbon neutral. For years, the company has promoted the responsible use of resources in its offices to raise awareness among employees and partners. In this regard, ID Finance will continue driving initiatives that contribute to fully offsetting its environmental footprint and preserving ecosystems.
