The new product, available on the Plazo finance app, allows customers to pay with a single card and automatically split purchases at partner retailers into interest-free instalments, with no additional steps at checkout.
ID Finance has launched Turrón by Plazo, a new flexible payment solution that enables customers to make online and in-store purchases.
Turrón combines an e-money account, debit card and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solution. The launch represents the expansion of ID Finance’s portfolio of digital financial solutions with a new product designed to simplify payment instalments.
One of the key differentiating features of the Turrón card is that customers do not need to take any additional action at checkout, whether online or in store. When paying at any merchants partnered with Turrón, customer purchases are automatically split into interest-free instalments with no additional cost for the customer.
As part of ID Finance’s commitment to transparency, Turrón users can check the amount and repayment schedule in the app before making a purchase. This allows them to see the exact instalment amount and the dates on which payments will be collected. The standard repayment plan consists of three-monthly instalments, while larger purchases at selected retailers may be eligible for repayment terms of up to 12 months, subject to applicable terms.
Turrón by Plazo is designed to remove friction from flexible payments, with no maintenance fees and without requiring a subscription. Eligible purchases are automatically split into interest-free instalments without requiring any additional steps from the customer at the point of sale. Customers also earn cashback on purchases made with the Turrón card at partner merchants, which is automatically tracked within the app.
Vitali Yermakou, Country Manager at ID Finance, said:
“With Turrón, we are taking another step forward in the evolution of our service offering. The card fits naturally into the way people already pay for everyday purchases, with instalments being applied automatically which removes the friction for customers when they are spending at merchants. The launch of Turrón strengthens our position as a comprehensive financial platform and expands our existing ecosystem to include BNPL and instalment payments which will drive further growth for the business.”
The launch of Turrón is a key part of ID Finance’s strategy to develop a suite of digital financial solutions which respond to the everyday needs of customers. Since launching in 2021, Plazo has evolved from a mobile finance app into a broader financial platform which brings together payments and financing, alongside additional benefits which focus on financial wellbeing.
Following ID Finance’s €140 million structured funding round in 2024, Plazo reached profitability for the first time at the end of 2025. Following the launch of Turrón, the company is now focussed on expanding its network of partner merchants. The addition of BNPL services marks another step towards achieving full-year operating profitability for Plazo in 2026.
