Toys are items that bring joy, fun and help children develop their imagination. They are key for children’s development, emotional health, and stress reduction. Furthermore, they help boost the communication and relationship between parents and children.
In some way, we have all felt the emotional, labor, and economic effects that the lockdown in response to the pandemic has caused. With the arrival of Christmas, dates that are usually full of enthusiasm, children are the ones that might suffer more the social distancing and this difficult new context we live in. This is especially difficult for children in with limited resources and in risk of exclusion.
Knowing the importance of playing during childhood – a right contemplated in Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, approved more than 30 years ago by the United Nations General Assembly- ID Finance and Go Strategy Group joined to promote the ¡GO Santa! campaign.
This initiative was active from December 1st to 17th, during which ID Finance employees, together with other companies, donated over 200 toys. In compliance with all sanitary measures, these toys were delivered to the Salvation Army, a Civil Society Organization that helps children in vulnerable situations, as well as homeless minors.
The toys collected were new or second hand, but in good condition. Each one was disinfected, wrapped for gift-giving and enclosed with a card with information about the recommended age range for use of the toy, the name of the person who made the donation and a message of good Christmas wishes.
So far this year, the ID Finance team has joined different initiatives to help those who have been most affected by the pandemic.
